Summer has officially arrived in North Myrtle Beach, and June is one of the busiest months of the year along the Grand Strand. Between the Carolina Country Music Fest, Father's Day celebrations, beach vacations, summer road trips, and the start of hurricane season, local roads become busier and vehicles work harder than they have all year.

Before you head out to enjoy everything June has to offer, here are a few local events and vehicle tips to help keep your summer running smoothly.

Father's Day in North Myrtle Beach

Father's Day is June 21, and families across North Myrtle Beach will be spending time together enjoying cookouts, beach days, golf outings, fishing trips, and family dinners.

Whether you're taking Dad to his favorite restaurant or planning a day on the water, dependable transportation helps make the day stress-free.

If you've been putting off routine maintenance, now is a great time to schedule a vehicle inspection before summer travel begins in full swing.

Carolina Country Music Fest Returns

The Carolina Country Music Fest returns June 4 through June 7 and will bring thousands of visitors to the Myrtle Beach area.

With increased traffic, long wait times, crowded parking lots, and hot summer temperatures, your vehicle needs to be ready for the extra demands.

Before heading to CCMF, we recommend:

  • Checking your A/C performance

  • Testing your battery

  • Inspecting tire pressure

  • Checking fluid levels

  • Keeping your fuel tank at least half full

A little preparation before the festival can help prevent unnecessary stress once you're on the road.

The Summer Heat Has Arrived

Summer temperatures, humidity, and stop-and-go traffic can put significant strain on your vehicle's air conditioning system.

If your A/C is blowing warm air, taking too long to cool down, producing unusual odors, or simply not performing like it should, now is the time to have it inspected.

Small A/C problems often become larger repairs if left untreated.

Cherry Grove Automotive is currently offering up to $150 off qualifying A/C services and repairs through June 30.

Staying cool isn't just about comfort. It can also help improve focus and reduce fatigue during long drives, especially when temperatures climb into the 90s.

With summer officially underway, now is the time to make sure your vehicle's A/C system is ready for the heat. From beach days and family vacations to daily commutes around North Myrtle Beach, staying cool behind the wheel can make every drive more enjoyable

Meet Bruce!

Our newest unofficial team member has an important reminder; Bruce believes a cool car is a safe car.

While Bruce may not actually work at Cherry Grove Automotive, he makes a good point. Hot vehicles can quickly become uncomfortable for passengers, especially children, pets, and older family members.

Whether you're heading to the beach, running errands, attending local events, or taking a road trip, a properly functioning A/C system helps keep everyone comfortable throughout the journey. Bruce approves cold air.

Bruce recently filed a formal complaint regarding weak vehicle A/C systems. While his methods may be questionable, his message is valid. Summer heat, humidity, and heavy traffic can quickly turn an enjoyable drive into an uncomfortable one. If your A/C isn't performing like it should, now is the time to have it checked.

June Vehicle Checklist

Before summer travel ramps up, take a few minutes to review this quick vehicle checklist:

  • Check A/C performance

  • Inspect tires and tire pressure

  • Test your battery

  • Replace worn wiper blades

  • Check coolant levels

  • Verify brake performance

  • Schedule any overdue maintenance

A little preparation today can help prevent problems tomorrow.

June is one of the busiest travel months on the Grand Strand. Between CCMF, Father's Day, beach vacations, and weekend adventures, your vehicle will likely see more miles than it has all year. Use this simple summer checklist to help ensure your vehicle is ready for wherever the season takes you.

Hurricane Season Has Started

June 1 marks the beginning of Atlantic hurricane season.

While everyone hopes for a quiet season, preparation is always easier before a storm develops.

Many people focus on stocking supplies for their homes but forget about the vehicle they may rely on during an evacuation or emergency.

Some important hurricane vehicle preparation tips include:

  • Keeping fuel levels above half a tank

  • Inspecting your battery

  • Checking tire condition

  • Verifying spare tire pressure

  • Testing headlights and taillights

  • Storing charging cables and emergency supplies

We'll be publishing additional hurricane preparedness content throughout the season, including vehicle checklists, storm preparation tips, and local resources.

Summer Safety Reminder!

A quick reminder from your friends at Cherry Grove Automotive.

If you're heading to the beach, CCMF, a ball game, or spending time outdoors this month, don't forget the sunscreen. Most people don't realize that sunscreen should be applied 15 to 30 minutes before heading outside and reapplied throughout the day.

Need a sunscreen recommendation?

My personal favorites here 👉 https://amzn.to/4o0pn4i & https://amzn.to/43N6ecI

We know we're being a nag, but nothing can ruin a great week faster than a painful sunburn.

A few quick tips:

• Apply sunscreen 15-30 minutes before sun exposure

• Reapply every 2 hours, especially after swimming or sweating

• Don't forget your ears, neck, feet, and shoulders

• Drink plenty of water throughout the day

• Take breaks in the shade when possible

If you do get sunburned, aloe vera, cool showers, moisturizer, and extra fluids can help.

My favorite after sun gel

If you experience severe blistering, fever, dizziness, nausea, or signs of dehydration, seek medical attention.
