Planning a Summer Road Trip?

Summer is road trip season.

Before you load the luggage and head out, schedule a comprehensive vehicle inspection.

A pre-trip inspection can help identify small issues before they become expensive problems hundreds of miles from home.

During a comprehensive inspection, we'll check:

• Tires and tire pressure

• Brake system

• Battery condition

• Belts and hoses

• Fluid levels

• Air conditioning performance

• Steering and suspension components

• Lights and windshield wipers

It's always better to catch a problem in the shop than on the shoulder of the highway.

July Car Care Tips

South Carolina's summer heat can be tough on your vehicle.

Here are a few simple ways to help keep your vehicle performing its best this month.

• Check your tire pressure regularly.

• Keep an eye on your coolant level.

• Test your battery before extreme heat affects its performance.

• Replace worn windshield wipers before summer thunderstorms arrive.

• Have your air conditioning inspected if it isn't cooling properly.

• Stay current on oil changes and routine maintenance.

Regular maintenance helps improve reliability, fuel economy, and overall vehicle performance throughout the busy summer season.

Did You Know?

Hot pavement is harder on your tires than you might think.

When the outside temperature reaches 90 degrees, pavement temperatures can climb well above 140 degrees. That extra heat increases tire pressure and accelerates tire wear, especially if your tires are underinflated or overdue for rotation.

Summer heat is tough on your battery.

Many people expect batteries to fail during the winter, but hot weather can be just as demanding. High temperatures may shorten battery life by causing battery fluid to evaporate more quickly and increasing internal corrosion.

Your air conditioning does more than keep you comfortable.

Your A/C system also removes humidity from the air inside your vehicle. That helps reduce window fog during humid mornings and afternoon thunderstorms while making every drive more comfortable.

A little preparation goes a long way.

If you're planning a vacation or weekend getaway, scheduling a comprehensive inspection before you leave can help identify worn brakes, weak batteries, fluid leaks, tire concerns, and other issues before they interrupt your trip.

Better safe than sorry.

Something New Is Coming

We've been working on something behind the scenes.

Keep an eye on our website and social media because a brand-new service special will be announced soon. We can't wait to share it with you.

Enjoy Your July

Whether you're watching fireworks at Cherry Grove Pier, visiting the Farmers Market, trying one of our new neighborhood restaurants, or heading out on a summer road trip, everyone at Cherry Grove Automotive wishes you a safe and enjoyable July.

If your vehicle is due for maintenance or you'd like a comprehensive inspection before your next adventure, give us a call. We'd much rather help you prepare for the trip than help you recover from one.
